Activism; a person who belives strongly in political or social change. Activism is a need in todays society, because of how unfair the world has gotten.

And people like Greta Thunberg is a great example for what an activist does, she fights against world leaders about climate change, attends protests and she speaks up.

There are a lot of things to protest for and wanting a change for. Racism and discrinination is a problem a lot of people experience, and it has been for many decades.

But you would think that the society would have changed since then, so why is it still such a big problem for a lot of people?

Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King likewise Nelson Mandela fougth for the civil rights movement in the US.

Rosa Parks helped initate the civil rights movement when she refused to give up her bus seat for a white man, this started a boykott which lasted over a year.

For this Rosa Parks became a nationally recongnized symbol of dignity and strenght. Martin Luther King was the one who led the movement, and his role as a leader was important for the movements succes in ending legal segregation of african americans.

His adoption of nonviolence resistance to achive equal rights for african americans earned him the Nobel Peace Prize, just like Nelson Mandela.

All of their actions helped to end legal racial segregation, and theyre a proof of why its important to fight for something you care about.

“The hate you give” is a movie that takes topics such as racism and policy brutality against african americans in the US.

In the movie we meet the protagonist and the main character Starr Carter who is a sixteen-year old girl living a double life between her preppy highschool Williamson and her home in Garden Heights.

From a young age Starr and her two brothers were taught how to act and deal with racism. And one day she stands face to face with racism when her friend Khalil Harris becomes a victim of race-based policy brutality.
