The recovery of one's employment is contingent upon variables such as financial standing, racial background, educational attainment, gender, and income.

Nevertheless, the question arises as to why these factors contribute to one racial group obtaining more jobs while others face prolonged unemployment. This prompts an inquiry into the state of the American dream amid this recession.

However, it's important to acknowledge that the American dream isn't equally within reach for all citizens. The pandemic has disproportionately affected specific demographic groups.

As a senior economist at the Center for American Progress, Olugbenga Ajilore, points out, the recovery following the pandemic has been notably unequal. Particularly vulnerable are the lowest earners, who have borne the brunt of the economic impact.
