Innledning
Dear fellow students,
Good morning, everyone. For those who are unfamiliar with me, my name is Sebastian Bak, and like you, I am a student here at Johns Hopkins University.
I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to address you today on the subject of the American Dream and its accessibility. Many strive to attain the American Dream, but what precisely does it entail, and is it within reach for everyone?
These are the questions I intend to explore in my presentation. To begin, I will provide a brief overview of the American Dream, followed by an analysis of how it has evolved over time.
Lastly, I will delve into the contemporary relevance of the American Dream and subsequently conclude my discussion.
I kindly request that you save your questions until the end of my presentation, at which point I'll set aside 5-10 minutes for our discussion. Without further ado, let's commence.
Utdrag
According to Trump, the American Dream can be universally realized through tax reform. This reform, encompassing tax return procedures, incentives for businesses to operate in the US, and tax cuts, is touted as a catalyst for fulfilling the dream.
While Trump's vision portrays this as a relatively easy accomplishment, the efficacy of such reforms raises questions. Will they genuinely facilitate dream fulfillment and job creation? This uncertainty lies in the hands of the future.
This brings me to the topic of poverty in America. Within the country are some of the poorest neighborhoods worldwide. Can individuals in these neighborhoods pursue the American Dream?
For some families, monthly earnings can amount to as little as $30, barely sufficient to support two adults and two children. Under such circumstances, how can they amass the resources necessary to pursue the American Dream?
Employment opportunities might be limited, with perhaps only one parent able to secure a part-time job. The challenges they face in ensuring proper child care and education cast doubt on their ability to achieve the dream.
