Innledning
“The American Dream” is a well-known phrase all Americans try to live up to. It’s about democracy, liberty, rights, opportunities, and equality.
From the moment you are born, you are growing and learning to succeed and have a good life, but not everyone gets a good life.
An example of the American dream is to do better than your parents, to live a financial life, and have your own home.
It sounds easy, an effective way to protect and motivate people to do better. But the statistic is saying something else.
Utdrag
There is a lot of evidence to why the American dream doesn’t exist, and why it shouldn’t. But as well a lot of pros because it does and should exist.
Gun control can lead to innocent people dying, but according to Americans' rights, every single human being can own and carry a gun.
A lot of Americans feel safer when they know they can protect themselves if they need to. The American dream can help them focus on one goal, for example being finically free.
The dream is a way of motivating citizens to do better and work harder. If you are born “lucky” the American dream is 100% ideal, it’s a great motivation boost, if not it's not a dream anymore, it’s a nightmare.
Is the American dream a reality? Does it turn America into a better country?
It’s no general answer to this question, it’s all about the individual human being.
How they act in society, how they are influenced by others, and how well they take criticism. Every choice a human take, every mistake that we make can change life.
The American dream might be a positive “quote” to try to live up to, but it makes unnecessary pressure, a pressure so huge that it can ruin a life.
And if life get ruined, a chance that their descendant will have the same problems as they had, and fall out of the system, before even being born.
It’s an evil circle, you aren’t able to get out of. An example is, for instance, if your parents are poor, you will most likely be poor as well.
