Most of you know me as a fellow classmate, but for those who don't, my name is Nicolaj Do, and I'm a student in the "Department of Media and Communications" at our school.
Today, I have been honored with the opportunity to deliver a lecture on the topic of social media and social responsibility. As we all know, social media plays a significant role in our social interactions, both in our personal lives and in the business world.
Technology has become an integral part of our daily lives, with social networks like Facebook, Instagram, and other websites being the platforms where much of our social interaction takes place.
It is no surprise that many companies and firms have joined social media to advertise their brands. Facebook, in particular, with its vast user base, has become a common choice for advertising.
While this provides advantages for branding and reaching a broader audience, there are also some disadvantages to consider.
One significant problem that arises on social media platforms, including Facebook, is the issue of hate speech.
Users often misuse the freedom of speech, resorting to mockery, racist comments, and threats, which can make others feel uncomfortable and disturbed.
Hate speech can have a detrimental impact on a company's image, especially when their advertisements are associated with such content.
