Innledning
All children are remarkable in their unique ways, but Matilda possessed something extra. She was born into the Wormwood family who unfortunately did not provide her with much care.

Matilda was left alone in the house every morning, forcing her to take care of herself. Despite the circumstances, she managed to teach herself how to read at a very young age.

Once she had exhausted all the reading materials available in the house, she ventured to the public library. Even after completing all the children's books, she continued with more advanced books intended for adults. In addition to her love for literature, Matilda taught herself mathematics and tackled other complex subjects.

Utdrag
The following day, Matilda's friend Lavender caught a salamander. However, they soon realized that they had to bring a pitcher to class for Miss Trunchbull and place the salamander in it.

Miss Trunchbull was notorious for terrorizing the class, and when she was taking a drink of water, she spotted the salamander in the pitcher and mistook it for an alligator. Blaming Matilda, Miss Trunchbull accused her of placing it there.

Once Miss Trunchbull settled at her desk, Matilda stared at the glass with the salamander. Then something incredible happened - Matilda made the glass fall, causing the salamander to jump onto Miss Trunchbull, who ran out of the room in a panic.

As a result, Miss Honey decided to let the class go early that day. Overwhelmed by what had happened, Matilda needed to discuss it with someone older, and she stayed behind as the other children left the classroom. She approached Miss Honey and confessed that she had tipped the glass over.
