Innledning
In these past few years Britain has seen a lot of different social issues. The social challenges are threatening to Britain’s democracy and its social conditions.

Greta Thunberg has made us consider environmental change, yet the interest for new housing has become continually more active, and Britain hasn’t yet fought the challenges of overpopulation or the lack of infrastructure in today’s Britain.

In spite of the fact that it was a calm and wealthy time, there were still issues inside the social structure during the Victorian era.

The social classes of this period incorporated the Upper class, Middle class, and lower class.

In addition, we see some of the same social related issues in both the Victorian era and in today’s Britain with challenges such as; crime, children related issues and the rapid growth of the population.

Class has generally been characterized by occupation, wealth and your education. However, in today’s Britain this appears to be excessively oversimplified, proposing that class has three types of deciding factors; financial, social and religious/cultural.

This has made it much easier for people in Britain to “move” from one class to another, because the social possibilities have increased and it’s much easier to succeed in the 21st century than it was during the Victorian era.

Professor of sociology at Manchester University, Fiona Devine said this to summarize todays social class system;

"It shows us there is still a top and a bottom, at the top we still have an elite of very wealthy people and at the bottom the poor, with very little social and cultural engagement" (BBC, 2020).

The same social class division in both the Victorian era and the 21st century is very much similar to each other. The era we live in today is far more superior to the Victorian Era.

There is a more modest contrast between classes, as a matter of fact the general public offers more chances: there are more possibilities, school is available for anyone and people study anything they desire.

There is much less inequality among people especially between men and women in difference to how it was during the Victorian era.

In British society and generally speaking the focus on women’s rights and the equality between men and women is very prioritized.

Women have the same rights to do anything what men can do in difference to the Victorian era where women were only supposed to be at home and taking care of the children while men would be feeding the family.
