In today's society, we have many issues which affect all us in different ways. Issues like poverty, hunger, climate change are problems which need to be fixed for humanity to survive.

Throughout history, people have paved the way to a better world, but humanity has still a long way to go.

Protesting and striking for the environment has led to that world leaders have started taking action.

The younger generation is proving that they are not too young to understand the world, they are showing courage and determination and have had a massive impact on society.

Social Media is has become the most important tool to spread information, and to raise awareness, with (2) 2.89 billion people, which is about 39% of the world's population using social media.

Because social media is widely accessible, less filtered and censored, in recent years many have found it an effective way of alerting the people on the many problems and conflicts in the world. (3)

Perhaps the best example of how social media has helped to stop major conflicts is the Arab Spring in 2011, which was an uprising for pro-democracy that encompassed several Muslim countries.

(4), During the conflict, protesters used Twitter as a medium to share the harsh ways the government reacted on this conflict.

They used it as a tool to the government account for their human rights violations.

At the same time there is an increasing awareness that widespread anonymity and lack of fact checking in social media makes them vulnerable targets for misinformation campaigns, which when instituted at state level can also affect modern democracies.

Lastly and probably the best know example of how to change society is how Mahatma Gandhi choose to fight for independence in India.
