In contemporary times, the phrases "the American dream" and "land of opportunity" are frequently used, but many are unaware of their historical significance.

While the US is often associated with these ideals, the concept of greatness and opportunity was prominent in northern Europe long before modern society.

Countless ordinary people left their homes, families, and jobs, drawn by the allure of something they had only read and heard about. The origins of these migrants were diverse, and they settled alongside other nationalities, forging a multicultural nation.

America has indeed been regarded as a land of opportunity, where individuals from all walks of life can achieve success. Each year, thousands of people from around the world immigrate to the US, aspiring to realize "the American dream."

The history of American immigration can be traced back to 1620 when settlers from Britain, Germany, and the Netherlands crossed the seas seeking freedom from cultural prosecution and better opportunities, ultimately establishing New York City.

This idea of the land of opportunity spread rapidly across Europe, leading to the formation of Spanish and French colonies, among others.
