Innledning
Slam is written by Nick Hornby. It is about Sam and his life. In the book and the movie, we get to know who Sam is and the people around him.
We get to meet Alicia, Sam’s mother, and father. We also get to know a lot about them and their lives. This is what this text is going to be about.
It is going to be a characterization of Sam and Alicia. I am going to write about who they are and their life. Then I am going to compare them to each other and look at the differences and similarities.

Alicia is a beautiful 16-year-old girl who lives with her parents. They live in a big, beautiful house. She also has a small brother; his name is Rich Burns.
Alicia is a kind girl who listen to almost everything her parents say to her and does almost everything they want her to do.
For example, when her parents tell her to study, she does. Not only about school does she listen to them, but also other things.
So, by looking at her behaver we can tell that she is not only kind, but also smart. Alicia is good at school and gets great grades.
This is because her father is educated as a college professor. But to Alicia school does not matter as much as it matters to her parents.
They want her to be at the best college. Alicia herself prefers other things, for example becoming a model which is her dream.
In her free time, she plays piano and likes to hang out with Sam. Another thing about her life is that Sam is not her first boyfriend, she had another boyfriend before him.
She broke up with him not a long time before she met Sam at her parents’ party. Sam and her meeting were organized by her mother and Sam’s mom.
As I have written before, she becomes pregnant afterwards in the book and movie and have a baby called Rufus.
This became a problem in her life and because of it she fails her Certification of Secondary Education exams.
