Ira Levin was only 22 years old when he wrote his first novel, the award-winning thriller 'A Kiss Before Dying'.
He was 25 when, after military service, he wrote his first play, the successful adaptation of Mac Hyman's "No Time for Sergeants". In the years that followed, he continued to work on both sides of the literary road.
His plays include the comedy hit "The Critic's Choice", the musical "Drat! Cat!" and the thriller "Veronica's Room".
His novels include "Rosemary's Baby", which is generally credited or blamed for kicking off the current rise of occultism, "The Stepford Wives" and the international bestseller "The Boy from Brazil".
Levin, who was born and raised in New York, is an alumnus of New York University and has three sons.
