Innledning
In the region of Kirghizia in south-central Russia, nomadic hunters have long relied on a particular breed of golden eagle known as the berkut for hunting.
These eagles have been carefully bred over generations to possess remarkable strength and size, which they utilize to take down prey as formidable as wolves.
The berkut's hunting technique involves binding the wolf's muzzle to suffocate it or using its powerful dives to break the wolf's back, showcasing the bird's extraordinary hunting abilities.
Utdrag
Starting with an SS Colonel named Günter Brumm, the novel details his daring mission to extract Adolf Hitler from the ruins of Berlin.
With the Soviet army quickly advancing on the last strongholds of the German army, Brumm must navigate the rubble of the once great capital of the Third Reich to find the Führer and get him out alive.
His task is made even more difficult by the fact that he must fool the entire world into believing that Hitler is dead. Brumm is not alone on this mission, however.
He enlists the help of an old friend, SS Sergeant Major Hans “Beard” Rau, and together they manage to get Hitler out of Berlin alive. They make their way to a secluded cabin in the Harz Mountains that belongs to the Brumm family.
Meanwhile, Petrov and his Special Operations Group are tirelessly searching for any sign of Hitler's whereabouts.
They interrogate thousands of soldiers, officers, and civilians, finally coming to the conclusion that Hitler is still alive and has escaped.
They follow any leads they can find, including discovering that the Vatican and the Pope had supported the Third Reich during the war, and that they played a central role in Hitler's escape.
As the chase heats up, some of Petrov's men pursue the Nazis into the Harz Mountains, while others continue their investigation.
Will they be able to catch up to Brumm and his team before it's too late? And what other secrets will they uncover along the way? Only time will tell in this thrilling tale of war and espionage.
