Innledning
On August 29th, 1958, Gary, Indiana, U.S.A. welcomed Michael Joseph Jackson into the world. He was the son of Joseph Walter Jackson and Katherine Jackson, and grew up with a large family consisting of nine siblings: Rebbie (1950), Jackie (1951), Tito (1952), Jermaine (1954), La Toya (1956), Marlon (1957), Randy (1961) and Janet (1966).

In 1962, The Jacksons began their musical journey, and within a year, Michael emerged as the leading member of the band.

Despite being under 10 years of age in 1968, Michael's talent and charisma secured The Jackson Five a record deal with Motown, prompting him to rename the group.

Their debut single was released the following year, and it was an instant hit. The group's subsequent singles continued to dominate the charts, making them the first pop group to achieve four consecutive number-one singles.
