Innledning
Over the years there have been a lot of climate demonstrations, most of them have been peaceful, some have been chaotic.

Ever since Greta Thunberg started her demonstrations in 2018, there have been more focus on the climate changes especially for our generation. Here in Norway, there have been different kinds of protesters, “Extinction Rebellion” is one of them.

In May this year they glued themselves to the railings inside Stortinget (Mjaaland, et al., 2022) and earlier in April they interrupted a church ceremony by walking inside with red capes bearing crosses with dead animals on them (Hansen & Hella, 2022). The question here is: Is it working, or does it have the opposite effect?

Utdrag
Climate activism is important if we want immediate change, which is something we do unless we don’t want a world for our children. The only problem is finding the perfect way to do it, you must draw attention, but don’t go too far.

Just look at how much Thunberg`s silent demonstration did, in short time the whole world was demonstrating and saying, “Fridays for future”.

Its all about doing the right things at the right time. At the same time, we don’t hear much about her anymore, I don’t think it is because she has stopped, but because she has had her “five minutes of fame” and after that people don’t care much any longer.

This happens with most things. People want to help, but as soon as they realize they have to do something they get uninterested.

This is kind of what has happened with the war in Ukraine too, at first people were super interested and helped the refugees with clothes and equipment they needed. Now the war is “old news” even though the media write about it every day.

Another issue about climate activists/activism is that since we only see the most extreme people or organizations, they ruin for the majority of the activists who work in a more discreet way.

Most people don’t want to be associated with people who glue themselves to railings or walls, therefore they don’t engage.
