Innledning
The topic me and my group chose was media influence. From the topic our thesis was how can social media affect the spread of conspiracy theories and fake news, and how can this affect society?
The reason we choose this specific topic was because everyone in the group thought that media influence sounded like an exciting topic.
Another reason was also that since we have learned about it in our class, we thought that it would be easier to get info.

I did learn a lot from this topic such as without social media it would not be as much fake news and conspiracy theories. Some of the content that I found interesting was Pizza gate.
A man named Edgar M. Welch had seen a theory online that pizza gate had a pedophile network in the basement. The theory made him want to check out if this was true.
So, he drove 500km to the pizza gate restaurant. When he came to pizza gate, he aimed the gun at a worker there and fired several shots.
After that he searched the whole restaurant for 45 minutes and found out that there was no pedophile network in the basement.
Funniest thing of all was that they did not even have a basement and that Welch ended up with 4 years in prison because of a theory on social media.
There are more things that has happened because of social media such as 22. July. One of the main reasons that 22 July happened was because Anders behring breivik read a conspiracy document on social media about immigrants taking over Norway.
It has been said that Anders is very easy to influence so that made him believe that it was true and that he had to do something about it.
I did find the topic more interesting after the project, because there is so much more I did not know about social media and its effect on people.
When we first chose the topic and thesis, I did not know that social media is the source to nearly all the fake news and conspiracy theories.
