Illegal Immigration in the Us:
Barack Obama’s Presidency:
Donald Trump’s Presidency:

Utdrag
Greetings, esteemed fellow students of the University of London,
I am Laura Melholdt Rasmussen, and like each of you, I am a proud student at this prestigious institution.

Today, I stand before you to address a critical topic that has gripped the United States of America—the issue of illegal immigration.

My speech will unfold in three distinct segments, delving into the intricacies of illegal immigration in the US, the impact of Barack Obama's presidency, and the consequential policies shaped during Donald Trump's tenure.

Illegal immigration in the US:
For those seeking clarity on the term "illegal immigrants," it refers to individuals residing in a country without legal authorization. These are people who have violated the immigration laws while migrating into a nation.

In the year 2017, under the leadership of President Donald Trump, the United States of America housed around 10.5 million illegal immigrants, constituting 3.2% of the country's population.

Notably, in 2004, during the tenure of President George W. Bush, the number of undocumented immigrants reached a peak of 4% of the population.

Allow me to share the inspiring story of Julissa Arce, a woman originally from Mexico, who arrived legally in America at the tender age of 11 to be with her parents.

However, at 14, her visa expired, and she found herself as an undocumented immigrant. Despite facing such challenges, a newly enacted law permitted her to complete her education.

While her parents were deported to Mexico, Julissa persevered, working tirelessly to finance her college education.

Through sheer determination, she secured an internship at Goldman Sachs, and within a year, was offered a full-time position. Julissa's journey led her to become both Vice-President of Goldman Sachs and a proud US-citizen.
