A happy Valentine

Valentine's Day was fast approaching, with soft snowflakes falling gracefully to the ground, covering the streets with a blanket of white. Everywhere you looked, you could see happy couples strolling hand in hand, while the shop windows were filled with heart-shaped boxes of chocolate, bouquets of red roses, and small paper hearts.

It all seemed picture-perfect, but as we know, not everyone has a significant other to share the special day with. While most are content with being alone, there are some who feel an overwhelming sense of sadness at the thought of spending Valentine's Day solo. Fifteen-year-old Laura was one such person, and this is her story.

They had been together for almost a year and had shared some wonderful times. But for some reason, he ended it abruptly and without explanation. Laura had moved on, but there was a lingering question in her mind - why did he break up with her?

As Valentine's Day approached, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of sadness knowing she would be spending it alone. While her friends had romantic plans with their partners, Laura had no one.

Ellen, her best friend, was going out with Timothy to the most romantic restaurant in town. But for Laura, it would be a lonely night at home. Lost in her thoughts, she was suddenly jolted back to reality when a boy bumped into her, almost causing her to lose her balance.

- "Oops, my bad! Sorry about that!" He gasped for air. "My neighbor was chasing me. He threw a snowball at me, and I didn't mean to hit you." He paused, taking a deep breath. "I have to go now before he catches up to me."

The two girls watched as the boy darted off, leaving them with a chuckle. However, their laughter was short-lived as they noticed the furious man running towards them with a broom in hand.
