Utdrag
In this interview, an English man called Richard was interviewed about typical English things. The interview starts off with Richard trying to explain why it is written GB behind his car and not UK.

This was a good topic because it is natural to wonder why, because GB (Great Britain) is a part of the UK (United Kingdom).

Richard explained that the Great Britain is England, Scotland, and wales. He then continued with saying that the United Kingdom contains the whole Great Britain, but also Northern Ireland.

The interviewer follows up with the question; “What are typical English for you?”. Richard lists up many things he combines with English, for example:

- Fair play and tolerance: Richard explain that the typical English man has a lot of tolerance for people’s differences. He also later in the text give an example about queuing, to stand in line.

Richard means that if you sneak polite into the queue, it can be accepted. Because as Richard said earlier, the typical English man have tolerance for other people’s differences.

- Historical places: Richard talked about the heritage of cathedrals, castles, old streets, and the white cliffs of dover.

He mentioned it as an answer for the question, but I think he meant it more like typical English landmarks. He also talked about the beautiful countryside, which he means is the most typical English you can find.

- Bars and pubs: when talking about typical English things, a pub or a bar will always take a place, but Richard seemed like he disagreed with this stereotype.

He says that not everybody goes to a pub every day, some may not even have seen a football match. He used a big word and called this a cliché example.

Last of all Richard mentioned what he thinks is the most typical English, he stated the countryside as I’ve already written.

Then he also stated, the Royal family, House of Collins, and the Political life. This is a great example, because England has a long history behind its name and still have a huge effect on how the world thinks and acts.
