«Hello, journal. Aidan has been occupying my thoughts more and more lately, and my feelings for him have grown significantly.

It's been almost a month since my last entry, and I'm still keeping our relationship a secret from Bruce. With two years left until we move to Germany, I'm hoping we can maintain our secrecy.

Aidan and I have talked about our future together, and he even mentioned the possibility of getting me a ring once we start our new life.

Although I'm thrilled at the prospect, I can't help but feel a bit apprehensive about what lies ahead.

Sheila was just about to leave when Bruce appeared, his expression contorted into something unfamiliar.

Sheila could sense that her husband was seething with anger, and she couldn't shake the feeling that somehow he had discovered her relationship with Aidan.

«Where are you off to, Sheila?» He spoke slowly, his gaze fixed on her with a look of bewilderment.
«Oh, I'm not going far, just over to Martha's place next door,» she replied casually.
«Okay. »

Sheila couldn't shake the feeling that Bruce was becoming increasingly suspicious of her. However, she managed to flash him one of her signature smiles before slipping out the door with the brown "Welcome" sign on it.

Half an hour later, she met up with Aidan in the park, and they spent some time discussing their plans for the future. After an hour of talking, they headed back to Aidan's place and spent a wonderful evening together.

14. October 1999
«Aidan, I've been doing some thinking. As much as I want to go to Germany with you, do you think we should postpone our plans?»

«Why would we need to do that?» Aidan asked, his voice tinged with both sadness and surprise.
«I'm afraid that Bruce might have figured out our relationship, and I don't want to put you in harm's way,» she explained, hoping that Aidan would understand her apprehension. Aidan felt a surge of anger and was momentarily speechless, unsure of how to respond.
