I've come to discuss the apartheid system in South Africa, along with the prevailing attitudes towards it, both in the past and present. Why?

Because the apartheid system represents one of the most significant instances of racial segregation witnessed in recent history, and its impact may not have entirely dissipated yet.

Imagine a world where every individual on Earth enjoys equal status and has access to the same resources like water, salt, and bread as their neighbors.

Such a world would foster fairness and harmony, allowing humanity to cherish the privilege of being born as humans. Nelson Mandela relentlessly pursued this dream throughout his life, upholding it until the very end.

To escape the hardships and seek a better life, many black people resorted to extreme measures, even separating from their families and children to "pass as white" and have their racial classification changed. We must never forget this painful past and strive to ensure it remains consigned to history.

Many of you may believe that South Africa is now a harmonious place where people of all races and social groups live peacefully, either as families or individuals. However, that assumption would be entirely mistaken.

Since the abolition of Apartheid, South Africa has undoubtedly experienced significant positive changes.

The black community, in particular, has witnessed newfound prosperity, with many now residing in affluent neighborhoods adorned with well-maintained roads, sidewalks, and luxurious homes featuring gardens, swimming pools, and tennis courts.

It is evident that progress has been made in the past two decades since Nelson Mandela's presidency. Nevertheless, racial tensions still persist.

Interestingly, the dynamics of racism have shifted in contemporary South Africa, with a reversal of roles. Now, some whites find themselves suppressed by their black counterparts.

In stark contrast to their previous privileged lives during Apartheid, many white individuals live in challenging conditions within slum-like settlements.

In these impoverished communities, they struggle to make ends meet and must do whatever it takes to survive.

However, it's essential not to misconstrue the situation. The income disparity between whites and blacks remains substantial, with whites earning an average of six times more than their black counterparts.

It's crucial to clarify that not all whites are experiencing hardship, as we're specifically addressing the most economically disadvantaged class.
