Water scarcity is one of, if not the biggest problem in the world. Humans need water to survive, hell every living organism needs water to survive.

It’s a big problem now and will be even greater of a problem in the future. With all this in mind, why are we not taking major actions to do anything about it

Utdrag
This is a quote that I have taken from the book CITIZENS. The person talking is Violet and she is only 10 years old.

She needs to walk 6 miles (ca. 10 kilometers) every day to keep her family refreshed. Violet is only 1 of 844 million who has no access to clean water. That’s one in nine people in the world who lacks access to clean water.

One in three lack access to a toilet, therefore making water contamination inevitable. 1600 children under five die because of diarrhea. The cause of this is the contaminated water.

Over 2 billion people live in countries with high water stress. This means that they are at a risk of extreme water shortages.

These numbers have probably gone up since the text I gathered the information from was made in 2018.

4 billion people experience water scarcity at least one month every year. That’s over half the worlds population. 4 BILLION people.
