Innledning
In this text I am going to talk about something that is very important and disputed.

First, I am going to talk about what exactly a body image is, and how body image issues are a problem, and that body image issues can develop to different types of eating disorders.

Next, I am going to talk about the pressure from social media and how social media affects especially teenagers.

After that I am going to say something about how the pressure often is in our own heads and that it sometimes is self-made. Last but not least I am going to talk about positive and negative sides with social media.

What is a body image?
The expression “body image” has lately been talked a lot about both in media and in real life. I think that body image is the image you get of yourself when you look yourself in the mirror.

I mean that it is the feeling you get of yourself and how you look at yourself, when you look in the mirror. Many people perceive their body image badly, and that’s what I am going to talk about in the next paragraph, namely body image issues.

Then I am going to say something about self-made pressure, and how some teenagers can develop this pressure themselves, or if it comes from the ones that posts pictures of their “perfect lives”.

Pressure from social media
Many teenagers today experience a constant pressure from social media, and this is a problem that has been worse than ever. The article “Social media is harming the mental health of teenagers.

The state has to act”, tells us that teens are so emotionally invested in social media that a fifth will wake up at night and log on. That tells us a little bit about the addiction the teenagers have to their phone and to their social medias.

We all know that sleep is important, and when teenagers, who need 9.5 hours of sleep each night, wakes up at night to check their phone, something has gone too far. Most teenagers go to school, and to study you have to be awake and concentrated.

A lack of sleep can often lead to stress, difficulty concentrating and last but not least, you get tired.
