History
McLaren’s illustrious journey traces back to a bygone era, commencing on 2nd September 1963 when the visionary Bruce McLaren laid the foundation of the company.

Their ambitious vision was nothing short of creating the perfect Formula 1 car. Bruce McLaren himself, a former racing driver and talented designer, had an illustrious racing career starting from 1937, but fate dealt a tragic blow as he lost his life in 1970 during a test drive in one of his own cars.

Yet, even in the face of heartache, McLaren triumphed, clinching their first championship shortly after Bruce's untimely passing.

From there, they emerged as one of the most esteemed teams in the sport, clinching an astonishing 12 championships.

The legendary McLaren Formula 1 cars were graced by some of the most revered names in racing history, etching their mark in the annals of time.

Niki Lauda's four-year stint with McLaren remains a cherished memory, but it is Ayrton Senna who stands as the most unforgettable and celebrated McLaren racer, hailed by many as the greatest Formula 1 driver ever.

However, Formula 1's history was forever marred by tragedy on May 1, 1994, when Ayrton Senna met a fatal accident during the San Marino Grand Prix.

Throughout the years, McLaren continued to be a powerhouse, attracting some of the biggest names in racing to sit behind the wheel of their Formula 1 cars.

Legends such as Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton have left their indelible mark on McLaren's legacy. Presently, McLaren is graced with another prodigious talent, Lando Norris, who promises a future filled with greatness.

Beyond the realm of Formula 1, McLaren ventured into other prestigious competitions, participating in IndyCar, Can Am, and the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans, though not with the same level of triumph as their Formula 1 achievements.

In the early 1990s, McLaren embarked on a groundbreaking endeavor - crafting their first streetcar. This was no ordinary vehicle; it aimed to replicate the exhilarating experience of driving a Formula 1 car on public roads while aiming to shatter the world record for the fastest car ever produced.
