I am XX, a student of marketing and economics here at Stanford, and I am thrilled to deliver this speech on McDonald's challenges and their strategies to address them.
McDonald's, as you all know, is a global fast-food chain with over 35,800 stores and a 2020 revenue of 19.2 billion dollars, making it the largest fast-food chain worldwide.

In my opinion, the best initiative is menu trimming. The menu has expanded by 70% since 2007, leading to longer wait times and lower profit margins.
Streamlining the menu allows for a more specialized kitchen, faster service, and reduced food waste, benefiting both the business and customers.
Looking ahead, McDonald's wants to reshape its image to align with healthier eating trends. Removing unnecessary preservatives from their food aims to improve their reputation. However, altering the perception of fast food as unhealthy may prove challenging.
With their proposed solutions, I am confident McDonald's will maintain its position as a fast-food industry leader. They have the capability to address critics' concerns and implement necessary changes.
