Letter to Neil’s parents

Innledning
To my beloved parents,

I hold a deep admiration and reverence for both of you, which is why I feel compelled to speak honestly with you.

Undoubtedly, you are aware that we were assigned a new literature teacher this year, by the name of Mr. John Keating.

His impact on our class has extended beyond the boundaries of literature, as he has bestowed upon us valuable insights about life.

He has instilled in us the understanding that life is fleeting and we must make the most of it. The forthcoming information I'm about to share with you might not be easy to digest, but I believe it's essential that both of you are aware of the truth.

I am not penning this letter to voice my grievances, but rather to share a newfound clarity about my aspirations in life.

My heart's desire is to become an actor, and that is why I am writing to you. Although it may seem preposterous to you, it is my dream.

I understand that both of you hold high expectations for me, and believe that only an academic career, such as in law or medicine, will suffice.

However, I must confess that our values diverge in this regard. Accumulating wealth or showcasing success to others holds little significance to me.
