Utdrag
I can somehow relate to what you are saying @Lil$bablingbling, all these thick books and the theory has no point, for someone that does not get it in their head, and what @aintallsunshine is writing about with not having the best mentor can also make the school year harder and make your motivation for learning and get your education be at the breaking point.

Although your mentor or teacher does not show any interest or helps you, it is also your own responsibility to educate, study, read the books, do notes and pay attention in class.

If you asked five-year-old me, what do you want to be when you grow up Mia? I would probably answer you “A princess or a mermaid” like many other children would answer you.

My mother used to always buy me big, long, silky dresses to play dress up princesses with my little sister.

However, when the years passed and I started to get older and stopped playing princess, my mother used to tell me “You have to get a good education Mia. You have to become a doctor or a lawyer or maybe even miss universe.

When you live in an Asian household you will always be told to become either a doctor or a lawyer or get an education where you get a high salary.

They mostly tell us this because most of our parents never had the money or the opportunity to have their dream education. It is hard to live up to their expectations, and it is even harder to know you are letting them down.

Years still passes and I want to become everything. Everything from a model to a vet. When I was twelve years old, I wanted to become something my family would approve, becoming a nurse or something that could help other people.

Yet I never said I wanted to become a doctor or a lawyer, some of them still approved it and others were still not so happy with my choice. From that day I have always feared what my other family members would say.
