Utdrag
Not long after she was born, Ella was blessed with the gift of obedience by a fairy named Lucinda, making it impossible for her to refuse any command given to her.

As she grows up, Ella's mother passes away, leaving her alone with her impoverished father. In search of a better life,

Ella's father remarries a wealthy woman, who arrives with her two daughters, Hattie and Olive.

However, the new stepmother and her daughters treat Ella poorly, discovering her gift and using it to make her life miserable.

Desperate to break the curse of obedience, Ella sets out to find Lucinda, hoping to convince her to reverse the spell.

Along the way, she meets a rebellious elf named Slannen, who joins her on her journey to find the fairy.

However, they encounter trouble with some dangerous ogres and are saved by Prince Charmont, who becomes smitten with Ella and follows her to a wedding in hopes of helping her find Lucinda.

Despite their search, Lucinda is nowhere to be found, but the prince suggests that Ella visits the Hall of Records to continue their search.

As they journey back to the palace, Ella and the prince fall deeply in love with each other.

But their happiness is short-lived when Ella's cruel stepsisters reveal to Prince Charmont's uncle that she can't disobey any order, and he uses this to plot the prince's murder.

Edgar, the prince's uncle, demands that Ella stabs the prince when they're alone, and she must keep it a secret.

Terrified, Ella begs Slannen to tie her to a tree outside the city and seek help from the giants.
