Several instances involve the unfortunate deaths of young black males at the hands of white police officers. On occasion, these individuals are entirely innocent of any wrongdoing.

The black community engages in persistent protests, even if the impact appears limited. Regrettably, such protests often give rise to escalated street violence.

Delving into the root cause of these riots, and establishing a more positive rapport between black communities and law enforcement, presents a significant challenge.

Despite evidence suggesting the contrary, the New York Police Department continues to employ this strategy.

Disturbingly, reports reveal that "Blacks and Latinos experience harsher treatment, with a greater likelihood of arrest instead of being issued a summons, and a higher probability of facing police force compared to white individuals accused of similar offenses." These disparities are fundamentally unjust.

The heightened police presence in economically disadvantaged black communities perpetuates negative perceptions from a young age.

To establish a more positive relationship between the black populace and law enforcement, this dynamic must be transformed.

The next source I'm referring to is "Walking while black: Michael Brown, black men and white police officers," authored by Ishmael Sistrunk on August 13, 2014.

In this piece, a local resident shares his experience of being black in Ferguson and witnessing the unfolding riots. The spark for these disturbances was the tragic death of Michael Brown, caused by a police officer.

Sistrunk challenges the notion that the tension between young black men and law enforcement is a recent development, stating, "The tension between police officers and young, black men is nothing new."

This tension stems from the mistreatment black individuals endure, as they are often treated as second-class citizens by both law enforcement and politicians.

Despite optimism surrounding the election of a black president, Barack Obama, his presidency did not alleviate racial tensions.

In fact, it seemed to exacerbate racism, with some refusing to acknowledge, respect, or cooperate with him as commander in chief.

Nevertheless, the increasing prominence of black individuals in influential positions globally is bound to demand societal recognition and respect.
