On October 28th, 1955, William Henry Gates III was born in Seattle, Washington. His father, Bill Gates Jr., was employed at a law firm in Seattle while his mother,

Mary, worked as a school teacher until they began to raise their family. William's parents had been married in 1951 and had their first child, an older sister named Kristanne, two years later.

He struck a deal with the computer owners, offering to identify and report any bugs that could cause the system to crash in exchange for free computer time.

It was during this period that Bill Gates met Paul Allen, who would later become his lifelong business partner.

The duo founded a small company called Traf-o-Data, which sold a computer equipped with their program that could count traffic for the city.

Though the venture was not a huge success, it provided them with valuable business skills and some income.

Bill's programming skills extended beyond business, as he wrote a scheduling program for his school and modified it to include himself in a class of the school's prettiest girls.

His peers and teachers regarded him as the most intelligent student on campus. After graduating from Lakeside, Bill enrolled in one of the country's top universities, Harvard, in 1973.

However, he found himself bored and spent most of his time programming, playing poker, and trying to achieve the best grades with minimal effort.

As a student, he confidently told his teachers that he would become a millionaire by the age of 30. Little did he know, he would underestimate himself, as he had already become a billionaire by the time he turned 31.

One of his former teachers referred to him as an "extremely talented programmer, but an obnoxious human being".

However, the intense lifestyle that Bill lived during his first year at Harvard left him sick for most of the summer of 1974. He eventually left Harvard to pursue business opportunities in programming, which led him to become a multi-billionaire.
