Utdrag
This story takes place in a farm with a climate similar to that of the Soviet Union. The protagonist, Old Major, is an elderly and wise pig who leads a group of animals who are tired of being overworked and underfed by their farmer, Mr. Jones, who has taken to drinking.
The animals are planning a rebellion against the oppressive capitalist regime of Mr. Jones, who has been exploiting their labor and controlling their income. One night, when Mr. Jones is asleep, the animals gather in the main barn for a meeting.
It is during this gathering that Old Major delivers a rousing speech that inspires the animals to rise up and fight for their rights. He declares that "All animals are equal" and urges them to unite to achieve this goal.
After Old Major's death, the animals, now led by Snowball, another pig, successfully overthrow Mr. Jones and take control of the farm. Although Mr. Jones attempts to retaliate, the animals prove too strong and successfully defend their newly won freedom.
The animals create a set of seven rules that apply to all creatures on the farm, ensuring that everyone is treated fairly and equally. Despite the challenges they face, the animals work together to build a better and more equitable future for themselves.
