Next, I am going to talk about the pressure from social media and how social media affects especially teenagers.

After that I am going to say something about how the pressure often is in our own heads and that it sometimes is self-made.

Last but not least I am going to talk about positive and negative sides with social media.

Many teenagers today experience a constant pressure from social media, and this is a problem that has been worse than ever. The article “Social media is harming the mental health of teenagers.

The state has to act”, tells us that teens are so emotionally invested in social media that a fifth will wake up at night and log on.

That tells us a little bit about the addiction the teenagers have to their phone and to their social medias.

We all know that sleep is important, and when teenagers, who need 9.5 hours of sleep each night, wakes up at night to check their phone, something has gone too far.

Most teenagers go to school, and to study you have to be awake and concentrated. A lack of sleep can often lead to stress, difficulty concentrating and last but not least, you get tired.

Many teenagers can feel a pressure especially from celebrities, influencers or just normal people. This is often a pressure of being perfect.

To look perfect, act perfect, have the perfect friends, have the perfect body and a perfect amount of likes on for example Instagram.

This kind of pressure is obviously bad and especially teenage girls are most affected. There are many girls who really try their best to be as perfect as they can, and to be “perfect” takes a lot of energy, and it also makes you think the wrong way.

Let us say that there is a fifteen-year-old girl who is called Lindsey. She has a normal life and lives with her mom, dad and her little sister, but the last few months she has started to read blogs and watch a lot of YouTube.
