Innledning
Terry had been looking forward to the match for weeks. As he made himself ready to go down to the pub to meet his mates, he kept wondering if there would be any trouble at the match. The West Ham fans were known to be a tough lot.
Utdrag
The match was starting in about half an hour, and Terry’s glass was about half full. He chugged the rest of the pint as his friends came into the pub.
“The Terry Boys”, feared throughout all of Birmingham. They ran the criminal underworld of the city, and a lot of the legal businesses too. They all sat down next to Terry, all waiting eagerly for their own glass of pint.
They didn’t have to wait long, as The Terry Boys were the priority guests when they were in the pub. It was a fair trade really, because without them the pub would’ve been raided a long time ago.
This was not a worry to the bartender anymore, as no one dared to cross Terry, or any of his comrades. There was one incident many years ago, when a couple of drunk Irish men from the IRA sat in Terry’s booth and refused to move.
They were found dead two months later in a river close by, all of them with missing fingers and toes.
Terry liked what he and his friends had accomplished. Just ten years earlier they were all poor survivors of World War One, and they agreed that all the time they got after the war was considered extra time, so they tried to make the most of it.
Terry was ruthless and notorious, but what separated him from his friends is that he was always calm, even in stressful situations. He wasn’t afraid of death or getting hurt, physically and mentally.
