Innledning
I have opted to analyze the attitudes towards personal and business ethics of four characters in plays. Willy, Charley, Howard (who is Willy's employer), and Ben possess distinct and contrasting perspectives on these two types of ethics.
Utdrag
Charley's perspective on business stands in stark contrast to Willy's. Throughout his life, Charley has dedicated himself to working tirelessly in order to advance in his chosen field.
Through years of hard work and perseverance, he has managed to establish his own successful law firm.
It becomes evident that Charley recognizes Willy's struggles in the business world, as he offers to lend him money on a weekly basis.
Willy's superior, Howard, possesses a personal ethical stance that closely resembles that of numerous influential business magnates in modern society.
Based on his statements and behavior, it is possible to discern his attitudes towards personal and business ethics.
Howard appears to be a firm believer in the idea that in order to succeed in the corporate world, one must always be prepared to fight tooth and nail.
Additionally, he seems like the type of person who would not hesitate to trample over others to reach the pinnacle of success, lacking in moral scruples. However, despite his questionable morals, he is undeniably a skilled businessman.
Ben's behavior and beliefs suggest that he, too, is someone who prioritizes personal gain over ethical considerations.
He appears to be willing to take significant risks in pursuit of financial success. It is rumored that he ventured into the jungle and emerged as a wealthy man, which reinforces this impression.
