Innledning
George Orson Welles came into this world on May 6, 1915, in Kenosha, Wisconsin. His childhood was far from ordinary.
His parents had high expectations for his older brother Dickie, hoping he would achieve fame and success.
However, Dickie didn't live up to their aspirations and ended up as a drifter. Orson, on the other hand, became his parents' new favorite and excelled in their eyes. Sadly, this favoritism had a negative impact on his relationships with others.
Utdrag
In the summer of 1938, George Orson Welles and the Mercury Theatre began a series of weekly shows featuring short plays inspired by popular and classic works of literature.
On October 30th of the same year, they presented a unique adaptation of H.G. Wells' "The War of the Worlds."
The production was cleverly presented in the style of a news broadcast, interrupting an ordinary music program to deliver a chilling account of aliens landing in Grovers Mill, New Jersey.
