Children's beauty pageants typically involve a mix of makeup, hair extensions, elaborate hairstyles, copious amounts of hairspray, artificial teeth, flashy costumes, raucous crowds (often comprised of mothers), peculiar poses, exaggerated facial expressions, glitzy tiaras, coveted trophies, varying degrees of talent, forced smiles, and occasionally, emotional outbursts like hysterical crying.

Utdrag
Learning to stand confidently in front of an audience and manage performance pressure can be valuable skills for children. If the child enjoys participating in beauty pageants as a recreational activity, then it can be a positive experience, similar to playing sports like football or handball.

However, it becomes problematic when mothers force their children to participate against their will. Winning frequently, earning money, receiving trophies, and feeling a sense of uniqueness can all be positive outcomes of participating in beauty pageants.
