Innledning
Never ever have I seen a movie which tells such a special story, and especially when it’s true. The Big Sick is a movie made by the producer Michael Showalter.
The movie contains the two amazing actors Kumail Nanjiani and Zoe Kazan which tells the story about Kumail Nanjiani and his real wife. Kumail and his real wife Emily v Gordon is the writers of the movie since it is their story.
It is hard to define the main characters in this movie because there are so many people having screen time.
Therefore, I will say that Kumail and his girlfriend Emily is the main characters, followed by their parents and at finally their friends.

I would say that you could define both Emily and Kumail as the protagonist, but Kumail goes through the most conflicts so therefore its Kumail.
The antagonist is the person who tries to stop the protagonist from reaching his goals. I think there are more than one antagonist in this movie.
I think the most obvious one is Emily’s mother Beth and Kumail’s own family. Beth didn’t like Kumail at all before late in the movie and throughout the time they were together, Beth tried to exclude him from Emily while she was in coma.
What I mean by that is that she consciously tried to get him to stay away from here when she woke up from coma, and that she was better without him.
