Innledning
"I've reached my limit. My mind is constantly tormenting me!" I dropped down to my knees as tears streamed down my face, blurring my vision of the walls around me.
"It never stops bombarding me with these fluctuating, volatile, and damaging thoughts that only bring me pain and self-destruction." The pressure on my chest grew more and more suffocating, making it almost impossible to bear.
Utdrag
The anger in Anthony's eyes bore into me, mixed with disbelief and shock. "No way, Sophie. I won't let you do this. You still have so much to live for," he protested, his voice full of emotion.
But the surge of adrenaline in my veins pushed me forward, and I strode determinedly towards the kitchen. I yanked open the drawer and grasped the glinting blade of a knife.
Anthony was right behind me, pleading with me to stop. "Please, Sophie. Think about what you're doing. You have so much to live for," he implored.
But I couldn't move, couldn't back down. I locked eyes with him, and the words spilled out of me. "So did you," I said, watching his face twitch in reaction.
Guilt washed over me, but I pushed it aside, bracing myself to reopen old wounds. "You left me, Anthony. I could have helped you if you'd let me.
I would have done anything to support you, and you know it." Tears streamed down my cheeks, leaving salty tracks in their wake.
You were the only one who saw me for who I truly was, the only one with whom I could let my guard down and cry.
You knew me inside out, understood me like no one else ever could. And yet, despite this deep connection, you left me all alone.
Why won't you let me get it over with? It's either this or a lifetime of suffering in some mental institution. Please, let me come with you.
As he looked into my eyes, he could sense the eternal suffering within me. "I know I can't stop you, even if I wanted to," he murmured with a heavy heart.
