Frodo Baggins

Innledning
Frodo Baggins is a resident of the Shire, a region predominantly inhabited by hobbits.

Frodo Baggins resided in Bag End, a magnificent hobbit hole that he inherited from his uncle Bilbo. Bilbo had adopted Frodo as his heir to prevent his covetous relatives, the Sackville-Baggins, from claiming Bag End after his death.

He had donned his magic ring when he arrived at Bag End, where Gandalf was already waiting for him.

There, Gandalf spoke with Bilbo and persuaded him to give the ring to Frodo because Bilbo was becoming obsessed with it. Gandalf left the ring in an envelope for Frodo and instructed him to "Keep it hidden, keep it safe."

A few years went by, and Gandalf returned to the Shire in a hurry. He had discovered something troubling about the ring, and instructed Frodo to throw it into the fire.

Though hesitant, Frodo followed the wizard's orders. After the ring had been in the fire for some time, Gandalf told Frodo to retrieve it and assured him that it was no longer hot.
