- William’s Windmill

- Dear William Kamkwamba.

1. In my opinion I think electricity is the best invention ever. The reason I think so, is because it opened the people to a whole new world. Without power people would not be able to establish something else.

2. Malawi is a landlocked country located on the east side of Africa.

I find your story truly fascinating and inspiring. I love how creative you were at such a young age. Having a big dream and never giving up on it can be challenging.

I love how your belief did not only make a change for you, but also for those around you. It made it easier for people in Malawi to live.

I’ve always wondered what would happen to your village, Malawi if you never made such a difference on hope.

I think you are brave for doing what you did, I’m sure everyone else thinks so too.

Sometimes I wish I could have the same mindset as you. It would have done a huge difference in my life. Whenever I’m at practice or a match, I always have this competitive mind.

Meaning if I was going to play against a great team, I would already have a negative thought knowing we might lose the game.

I want to think like you. Many people would blame on their background for not having the type of life they wished for.

Like not being born in Europe or not coming from a good family, but I truly believe anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

Just like you did, creating a windmill at the age of fourteen using scrappy things that you found on the street.

The fact that you built the windmill using a book without knowing how to read is amazing. You went from a simple farmer to a great person who people would look up to.

I think people will be able to see things from a different perspective because of what you did. Instead of having to rely on something or someone, you could always rely on yourself.
